Dear Jim:

	The enclosed is the evidence that we are about to
lose Vladimir Lifschitz.  I hope something can be done to
keep him or to get him back.

	The only thing I can add to what I previously said
about him concerns his teaching.  He is really excellent
and I'll bet the evaluations of his current course, the
basic course in AI, will show it.  The enclosed evaluations
to some extent reflect the fact that cs323 is a theory
course and its material isn't closely connected with
current applications.
